iType is a “stereotype” that came from a desire to embed metaphor, mythology, popular culture, and innuendo into a typeface. At the time, the now-ubiquitous iPod ads were just being plastered on subway walls. We entered it in Post Typography’s call for experimental typography, and it is now part of Alphabet: An Exhibition of Hand-Drawn Lettering and Experimental Typography traveling throughout the United States and abroad.
If interested, these posters are now for sale via Supermarket as individual prints or as a complete series.
Press:
Aside from the traveling Alphabet exhibition this work appeared in Print Magazine’s 2006 Regional Design Annual—NYC, as well as in Victionary’s Type Addicted—released in the fall of ‘07.
