Spring 2006 we gave the gift of Uniting to every member in the United States Congress. Included in each package was a letter detailing our rationale. This is an excerpt from the letter: “This gift comes to you in the spirit of the Uniting American Families Act [S.1278]. We hope it serves as a reminder to you to support this bill that, once approved, will enable thousands of Americans the opportunity to pursue happiness. With [your] support, these thousands will be able to realize the right we all should have that of living with whom we choose, without fear of separation or deportation…”
